Bambooh X-treme stands out for its use of Moso bamboo, an eco-friendly material that grows quickly, absorbs a lot of CO₂ and is sustainably managed.
The bamboo used for Bamboo X-treme is heated at a high temperature (approx. 200 °C), which caramelises and neutralises the sugars in the bamboo. This caramelisation gives Bamboo X-treme its unique colour. Because the entire beam caramelises, not just the outside, minor damage to the bamboo, e.g. from parking bicycles, is hardly visible.
If Bambooh X-treme is placed in an outdoor location, the deep brown colour of the bamboo gradually ages. This is a natural process. To counteract this, it is possible to coat the bamboo with e.g. a lacquer layer. Actually, we do not recommend this, as this natural greying makes the product unique, in addition to its durable character.
