Many bicycle steps and bicycle ramps are in practice too steep for comfortable and safe use. Bicycles are becoming heavier, more users are riding e-bikes and the average cyclist is getting older. With VeloComfort®, height differences in a cycle shed, at a station or in a car park can be bridged safely and comfortably. The stairs become a logical part of the cycle route instead of an obstacle.
VeloComfort® is specially designed to support cyclists when bridging height differences. A durable timing belt is installed on the left side of the stairs (seen from above), allowing users to easily guide their bicycle up the right side. This innovative bicycle lift runs in a double-walled aluminium channel, which is low-maintenance and guarantees a long service life. The timing belt is driven by a reliable electric motor, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
The bike lift activates automatically by means of an integrated pressure sensor and stops automatically. The bike lift activation time is matched to the diagonal length of the timing belt and is more than sufficient to comfortably guide the bike uphill. This selective system activation prevents unnecessary energy consumption and guarantees a safe and comfortable user experience.
*Suitable up to inclinations of 35°; for inclinations between 25° and 35°, we recommend milling the timing belt to a depth of 9cm and extending on the upper platform.
The VeloComfort®Trieband can optionally be supplied with smart function. The smart function enables real-time monitoring of the system in terms of both user numbers and technical performance. The project owner can log in and thus access user numbers and system parameters. Based on this data, he can compile his own statistics and the technical parameters can be real-time. For the smart function, the system owner provides a data communication subscription/sim card.
Seen from above, the stairs on the right side are fitted with the VeloComfort®Brush gutter, slowing down a bicycle chute equipped with brushes in speed. In this way, the user can move the bicycle on his/her right-hand side to below guide. The brush channel is composed of a high-quality, durable and low-maintenance double-walled aluminium bicycle channel, which is fitted with brush bars on both sides. The friction of the brushes slows down the bicycle during the descent, allowing the user to set his/her own pace.
Besides braking, the brush chute provides extra grip, allowing the bike to be guided down smoothly and stably. This makes the system not only comfortable, but also extremely safe to use.
