The recommended minimum clearance height for a low installation is 2m and for a high installation, it is 2.25m. Normally, the VelowUp! units are installed at high/low positions so that the handlebars of bikes parked next to each other overlap. We recommend mounting VelowUp!® units with a minimum center-to-center distance of 35cm. You can determine the center-to-center distance yourself, whether it’s 35cm, 36.3cm, 43cm, or 60cm. In general, the larger the center-to-center distance, the more the bike can be turned toward the wall.

Smart parking starts with efficient use of space. Bicycle parking space is scarce and expensive, while bicycles are becoming heavier, wider, taller and more valuable. With VelowUp!® you can park bicycles smartly by placing bicycles vertically. This creates a compact, comfortable bicycle parking space for almost any bicycle and a future-proof bicycle parking system.
But how does vertical bike parking with VelowUp!® actually work? You place the front wheel in the hook, hold the handlebars with both hands, take one or two steps backward, and then pull the bike backward to activate the gas spring. The bike is then lifted. Guide your bike by the handlebars until the rear wheel is against the casing and the front wheel is in the front wheel holder. Now you can release the bike and lock it. If you lock your bike with a chain lock, you can use the tie-down bracket on the lifting arm. That’s how easy vertical bike parking is with VelowUp!®.
Removing the bike from VelowUp!® is also very simple. Unlock your bike or remove the chain lock. Grab the bike by the saddle with one hand and with the other hand (the middle of) the handlebars. Press the front wheel with some pressure against the hook, take one or two steps backward, and simultaneously pull the bike toward you. This will cause the lifting arm to move down in a controlled manner. Keep the front wheel pressed against the hook during the downward movement. Once the bike is on the ground, remove the front wheel from the hook. Leave the lifting arm in the low position so that VelowUp!® is in the correct starting position for the next user.
The installation of VelowUp!® is simple and offers great flexibility. With the included mounting plates, you can attach the system directly to the wall, making it ideal as a bike hanging system for the wall. Want to store multiple bikes? Use the aluminum mounting profile, which allows you to easily adjust the distance between bikes without drilling extra holes. For spaces with weak walls or for middle spaces where walls are missing, you can opt for mounting on a freestanding rack system with floor fixation.
